20th Anniversary Project

June 14, 2009 marks the 20th Anniversary since our club was chartered.  In celebration of this milestone, we will be undertaking a major project which will enable us to transform the lives of children and support the Rotary International Theme of "Make Dreams Real."  Join us as we build a new classroom for the children served by the Coal Pit Learning Center, a non-profit organization providing a free pre-school program for low income children!

 

We don’t have to travel far… right in our own backyard, we have the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of young children and their families. With the addition of a new classroom, more children can be served by Coal Pit.  With the addition of a new classroom, we can improve the literacy of young children right in our own community.  With the addition of a new classroom, young children can attend pre-school 5 days a week, which allows their parents to seek full-time work. With a new classroom, we are doing our part in supporting DK Lee’s vision of improving child mortality rates and we are helping children have the best possible chance at survival and the opportunity to reach their dreams.
